Coats for Kids Fund

Goal: $12,000.00

Specific Need

Coats for Kids has an annual fund raising goal of $20,000 for 2023. This goal will allow us to purchase and provide approximately 400 new winter coats (coats average $45/coat), hats and gloves for children in need throughout Jackson county. We have received $10,000 in donations thus far and are striving to raise the remaining $12,000 through Thoughtful Giving Day.

Last year's event was our biggest giveaway to date. We provided 537 children within Jackson County a new winter coat, hat, and gloves. We saw a 124% increase in coats given away when compared to our 2021 giveaway!

Your generosity helps to ensure children are kept warm during the winter!

Mission

Coats for Kids provides Jackson County youth (newborn - 18 years of age), that could potentially go without, access to a brand new winter coat, hat and gloves as the weather begins to change this fall.

Profile

The 2023 coat event is being held Friday in November 3, 2023 which allows for applicants to pick up their requested coats, hats and gloves. For questions about applications and volunteering opportunities email, Sarah DeDonder at sarah.dedonder@gmail.com.

Starting the fall of 2021, Coats for Kids’ has a new home located in the north end of the old Central Elementary building (5th and New Jersey). The space has allowed us store coats and have a drive through coat event. It is absolutely perfect and we are so grateful for the space.

Donations of new coats, hats and gloves are always appreciated. Our donors and committee members shop the after season sales which allows us to serve more youth with less funds!
