Specific Need

Help Us Keep Jackson County Kids Warm This Winter! 

Coats for Kids has set an annual fundraising goal of $20,000 for 2026. With new winter coats averaging approximately $45 each, these funds will help us provide around 440 children in need throughout Jackson County with a brand-new winter coat, along with hats and gloves.

As part of this year’s goal, we are striving to raise $14,000 through Thoughtful Giving Day!

The need continues to grow each year. Last year alone, Coats for Kids provided more than 450 Jackson County children with a new winter coat, hat, and gloves.

Every donation, large or small, makes a difference. Your generosity helps ensure that children in our community have the warm winter clothing they need.

Mission

Coats for Kids provides Jackson County youth (newborn - 18 years of age), that could potentially go without, access to a brand new winter coat, hat and gloves as the weather begins to change this fall.    

Profile

The 2026 coat event is being held November 6/7, 2026 which allows for applicants to pick up their requested coats, hats and gloves. For questions about applications and volunteering opportunities email, Sarah DeDonder at sarah.dedonder@gmail.com.

Starting in the fall of 2021, Coats for Kids relocated to our new home located in the north end of the old Central Elementary building (5th and New Jersey). The space has allowed us store coats and have a drive through coat event. It is absolutely perfect and we are so grateful for the space.

Donations of new coats, hats and gloves are always appreciated. Our donors and committee members shop the after-season sales allowing us to serve more youth with less funds.
