Specific Need

We are currently sending books to over 540 preschool children in Jackson County, Kansas each month . As part of this early childhood literacy program, the local affiliate pays about $2.25 per book per child each month. Please help get books into the hands of our families with young children!

To provide high-quality books from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library to children from birth to age five in Jackson County, Kansas.

Profile

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until they begin school, no matter their family’s income.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is available to all children in Jackson County providing each child a library of up to 60 quality books complete with suggested reading activities. All preschool children are eligible for this program. The only requirement is that the child is less than 5 years old and lives in Jackson County.

Imagination Libraries are funded by local champions. The local champion of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library of Jackson County is Charitable Vending (in cooperation with Glacial Hills RC&D). Charitable Vending can be found at various outdoor events around Jackson county vending shaved ice and kettle corn. Look for the “little blue trailer.”
