Heart of Jackson Humane Society Fund

Goal: $5,000.00

Specific Need

Heart of Jackson Humane Society is planning to update our play yard with a shade structure for the comfort of our dogs.  The dogs will be able to enjoy being outside during the hot days of summer!   We will also utilize donations for the continued operations of our shelter.

Mission

The purpose of this society is the prevention of cruelty to animals, the relief of suffering among animals, and the extension of humane education.

Profile

Fun Fact
In April of 1975, Heart of Jackson Humane Society was organized and incorporated by a group of citizens concerned about the welfare of animals in Jackson County. For 30 years, and without a physical shelter, dedicated volunteers provided services for needy animals in Jackson County. In July of 1999, land was purchased at 8th & Vermont with the hopes of building a shelter. It finally happened in November of 2004, when the ground was broken for our shelter facility. The doors opened on May 4th, 2005. Since that day, we have provided a haven for more than 2,000 dogs.
